Cranstons Pies Drive-Thru Rockhampton
The client brief was to establish an eye-catching, modern, drive-through pie shop. The most significant challenge was to squeeze a fully functioning commercial kitchen, sales counter, cold and freezer rooms, admin office, storage, amenities and customer dining area into only 150sqm of floor area. The facade is the most outstanding feature as it is eye-catching from all four sides. Stepped parapets, awnings and hooded windows add trendy, modern touches.

2019 BDAQ Residential Design Award Winner – New Houses $500,001 – $750,000 A stunning showcase design for a modern young family. Clearly defined work and living spaces blend seamlessly, and quality workmanship and innovative design are the hallmarks of this home. The modern facade of mixed finishes surrounds an entry with subtle blends of natural wood, glazing and planting. High windows flood the patio / living zones with sun during the winter months. Rippled reflection of the winter sun from the pool adds to the ambience of the high-ceilinged living area.
Sleipner Street Renovation
2019 BDAQ Residential Alterations / Additions Award Winner – Houses over $1,500,000 This was a major renovation of a mountain-top dwelling with northerly rural and ocean views. A two storey atrium provides both amazing views from many of the living zones, as well as effortlessly acting as passive climate control. Local sandstone was used for retaining, flooring and wall cladding. Existing brickwork was kept or repaired and features extensively both internally and externally. Pre-finished timber cladding was matched to existing timber throughout. The final product is a very natural, earthy, low-maintenance home, nestled into its mountain landscape.

2019 BDAQ Residential Alterations / Additions Award Winner – Houses up to $350,000 The brief was to add an ensuite and rumpus room to the existing two bedroom home, provide a covered outdoor entertainment area and a new laundry and roomy double garage. Both living areas are well shaded from the western sun by the new built additions, and the cooling north east sea breezes still enter the house via the plantation shutters in the outdoor area.
